You help us keep
our heritage alive

Every old building, listed property and area of conservation has a story to tell. Historic buildings connect us to the past – helping to forge our national identity and underpin our shared culture. Here at Abode, we are passionate about passing on that history to the next generation. So, for every policy we place, we give back.

Preserving our past for our future

The UK has a unique tapestry of historic and traditional homes, heritage sites and listed properties that are painstakingly looked after by different organisations who believe that our shared history makes us who we are today. We think so too. That’s why we take a small percentage of your premium and donate it to one of the charities listed below, in support of the outstanding work they do in keeping our national heritage alive*.
So when you take out your insurance with us, you know you’re not just protecting your own home – you’re helping to cherish our country’s rich history too.

*Please note, charities and donation may be subject to occasional change.

The charities we support

English Heritage

English Heritage cares for over 400 historic buildings, monuments and sites –from world-famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles, from Roman forts on the edges of the empire to a Cold War bunker. Through these, English Heritage brings the story of England to life for over 10 million people each year.

The National Trust

The largest conservation charity in Europe, the National Trust is committed to promoting and preserving those places of natural beauty and historic interest for which it has the privilege to be responsible for the benefit of the nation, for everyone for ever. A guardian for the past for over 100 years, the National Trust maintains and enhances the land and properties entrusted to its care.

The National Trust for Scotland

The largest member organisation in Scotland, the National Trust for Scotland is a conservation charity that champions Scotland’s natural, built and cultural heritage to inspire and teach. From coastlines to castles, art to architecture, wildlife to wilderness, they encourage people to connect with the things that make Scotland unique, while protecting them for future generations.
